RE: UFO Allegedly Transported down Interstate 20 near D/FW.

Recently, the UFO Casebook published a report from a submitter detailing an incident that allegedly occurred on August 7, 2009, on Interstate 20.

This highway links Dallas to Ft.Worth, and according to information we have received, a parade of SUVS and Hummers, flanked by Dallas Police Department personnel, were escorting an 18-wheel tractor/trailer at or about 9:00 - 9:30 PM.

This vehicle was seen by eyewitnesses carrying what appeared to be a UFO-like object, uncovered. Ramps leading to and from the Interstate were blocked off, according to motorists who called several local radio stations. One of these was 97.9 The Beat.

I have done a fairly thorough search through the Dallas police reports, and various Dallas/Ft. Worth newspaper sites, and can find nothing relating to the reports.

I have also sent email to 97.9 using their current email address listed on their site, and I get a "mailer daemon" return. If any of our readers know anything else that might aid in our investigation, please let us know.

The UFO Casebook has been notified by MUFON that the MUFON Star program is conducting an investigation of this sighting. They have had additional witnesses come forward. Look for more on this at a later date.

We have received a lot of email from readers about the report. We cannot post all of them, but we are posting some of them which represent the gist of the information sent to us. See below.

Submitted I'm an ATS member and responded to a post pertaining to this and after taking it 'off' the truck, it reminded me of the JAL 1628 incident.

If you want to use the pic, go ahead... no reference needed. If not, that's cool too of course.

My post mentioned that it may have been possible that it was IMPOSSIBLE for the government trucks/people whomever to cover it with a tarp.

Field surrounding it maybe, melted a tarp off... radiation too dangerous to get close? who knows?

In 1998 my wife and I were driving North on I-65, south of the Redstone Arsenal in Alabama. Our car was overtaken by a flatbed truck escorted by 2 State Motorcycle Police going at least 90 MPH per hour.

On the back of the flatbed was a tarp covering a circular object. If we had not pulled over, I believe that they would have forced us off the road. If you want further info, please contact me.

Perhaps Lockheed Fort Worth was shipping out an F-35 test aircraft. I'm telling you that's the explanation.

I watched them take two days to wrap it up. I thought you guys were playing it for laughs. Certainly enough people around the factory have been having a laugh at the 'UFO sighting."

(Editor's Comment: I thanked the sender for his comments, and asked if there were any of these factory workers who could verify his statement. I also would like to add here that if it took two days to cover up the aircraft, they didn't do such a good job, since the object was "uncovered."

Although I did not witness this event, it gave me pause as I live just north of the D/FW area and I have noticed that there has been unusual F16 activity the last several weeks.

One night there were 3 or 4 flying very low with their big headlights on. Others that live in my small town wondered what they were up to. On another night I counted 7 F16s in the air at one time.

I was also sure I saw and photographed a UFO on both nights. This is very unusual to see F16s flying around nearly everyday now. I have lived in this area almost 9 years now, and up until recently we only saw commercial jets and an occasional prop plane.

I am not sure that it is relevant information, but I wanted to send it just in case.

To whom it may concern,

There is a situation here that has been unfolding since last Saturday. I was curious if MUFON was aware of this case. There has been a report filed with UFO Casebook by the person that took the photos of what appears to be a saucer-shaped object on a flat bed trailer going down I-20.

There were many witnesses, and many called the local radio station 97.9 The Beat. People were allegedly forced off the highway by police and the on ramps were blocked.

Some witnesses said there were military present and that some of the escort cars were black SUVs and Hummers. Supposedly, the audio has disappeared, and the radio station refuses to play it again.

There also seems to be police reports made that night about flashes of light and loud booms. There were fireworks that night, but some are saying it was not fireworks.

I also had a very odd experience approximately 24 hours prior to these photos. I will file a report if you think this story is worthy of your attention. I recommend someone there take a look at this on the UFO Casebook website as well as the photos I have attached.

I would just like to point out something odd about the photos. All wide load transports are required to have a "Wide Load" sign, there is not one. The photos are blurry, but I can see that there is no sign.

We need your experts to investigate this, because there are conflicting reports being spread around, and we need someone to get the real facts.

Please let me know what you think, so I can file a report on my experience, because I think it could have relevance to the investigation.

Thank you very much.

Brazil, 2006 A reader also reminded me of this report:

2006-On Saturday, November 25th, Brazilian UFO Magazine’s editor A. J. Gevaerd, received a call from Bahia with an intriguing story. The caller was Francisco Baqueiro, a psychologist and therapist, and magazine consultant on abductions.

He is said to have photographed with his cell phone, a strange and perfectly disk-shaped flying object being carried by a non-identified truck on a road in the Brazilian state of Bahia. The picture was taken on Tuesday, November 21st, at 07:16 AM. © Francisco Baqueiro

Woman Baffled by UFO Film
Published: 12 Aug 2009

A WOMAN has sparked a UFO frenzy after she filmed a bright orange orb speeding across the night sky.

Housewife Kathleen Donovan took the mysterious footage from her back garden in Sheerness, on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent, after seeing the strange lights every night for two weeks.

Kathleen, 57, was so convinced her images proved the existence of extra terrestrial life she even posted her 'evidence' on Youtube.

The clip - lasting one minute 18 seconds - shows the orange object moving across the twilight skyline.

The mysterious orb flashes bright orange before vanishing at the end of the recording.

Kathleen said: "I think it's a UFO. I was amazed.

"When we took the video it was moving really fast -the speed is amazing and it gets brighter as well."

Meanwhile scores of people have also reported seeing the bright orange lights in the night skies over East Anglia.

John Young, 43, of Sprowston, near Norwich, grabbed his camera after spotting a strange shining light in the early hours of yesterday morning.

He said: "You can see it appears to rotate clockwise for maybe 20 seconds then anti-clockwise for the next and so forth. ''I'm perplexed as to what I saw. Maybe there's a simple explanation but I haven't a clue what it was.'

2008 - Bumper Year in Canada for UFO Reports
An artist's rendering of an object seen in 1967 near Falcon Lake, Manitoba, by a man who alleges he was burned by it when he approached. He claims he received second-degree burns and was treated eventually at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota

Canadians saw a record number of unidentified flying objects last year, according to a 20-year study of saucer sightings from coast to coast.Photograph by: Handout, Canwest News ServiceIf UFO sightings statistics are anything to go by, the skies over Canada in 2008 must have looked like an extraterrestrial parking lot.

Canadians saw a record number of unidentified flying objects last year, according to a 20-year study of saucer sightings from coast to coast.

Chris Rutkowski, a 'Ufologist' and science writer in Manitoba, said Tuesday that in the past two decades, 15,000 Canadians have reported seeing 8,600 UFOs. These include sightings of lights in the sky and disc-shaped objects, reported to authorities ranging from the Department of National Defence to airports, police and the RCMP.

He said the number of sightings has skyrocketed since 1989 when 141 were reported. Last year, there were 1,004.

Rutkowski said the hike is probably due to a couple of things. First, it has become easier to report sightings as UFO-dedicated websites provide forms online, he said. As well, there are more satellites and aircraft in the sky — more objects to misinterpret.

And finally, Rutkowski added, there may be more genuine UFOs — airborne objects which can't be identified or explained.

About 14 per cent of the sightings are "unexplained," he said, which means they don't seem to be aircraft or stars or fireballs.

About a tenth of those are called "High Quality Unknowns" based on the wealth of knowledge about the sighting, the number of people who saw the same object, or the high credibility of such witnesses as pilots or police officers.

He said people in Ontario and B.C. report the most sightings, which makes sense based on population. But Albertans and British Columbians see the most UFOs per capita.

Rutkowski said those provinces both have very active data collection websites.

Rutkowski has never seen a UFO himself, but he wants to know why the reports keep coming in.

"People persist in reporting objects that shouldn't be there, so either there's a real phenomenon that needs further study or there's something in the nature of humanity to make them believe they're seeing something," he said. "Either way, it's worth studying."

Rutkowski has no proof that these sightings are aliens buzzing the locals — but he believes the possibility exists.

"It would be nice to think that we're not alone in the universe," he said. "And, if there's a civilization out there that is more advanced than ours, it's certainly possible that they're keeping an eye on us."

Out of the Sky, some Hollywood Magic
An alien spaceship producing a dazzling display of lights and sound descends on the Coliseum during the closing ceremony of the 1984 Olympics (Los Angeles Times)
Published: August 12, 2009

By David L. Wolper

An 'alien spaceship' that descended on the Coliseum during the closing ceremony of the 1984 Olympics was a moment of sheer wonderment.

A roar sweeps across the Los Angeles Coliseum. It is the closing ceremony of the 1984 Olympics. The rousing cheer intensifies when, from the eastern sky, with a full moon as a backdrop, a strange object appears.

With flashing lights and a roving spotlight, an alien spaceship approaches the Coliseum. The Earth signals the spaceship with the "Olympic Fanfare" and the spaceship responds with a dazzling display of lights and sound. It then lands behind the Coliseum peristyle in a fury of smoke, light and fire.

With a sense of wonderment, the crowd, including ABC announcer Jim McKay, couldn't figure out how it flew. A few in the crowd said, "Is it real?"

Nine days earlier, as the producer of the opening and closing ceremonies, I went to the inaugural flight of that spaceship. It weighed 2 tons and was 52 feet in diameter fully covered with fabric.

A giant helicopter with a cable that was bridled to the spaceship took off. As it was lifted off the ground, the powerful wind from the helicopter's rotary blades blew the fabric off the spaceship, which in turn caused its large frame to collapse, basically folding in half and looking like a giant taco in the sky.

Nine days to the closing ceremony -- and no spaceship.

Bob Gurr, project designer, says, "David, don't cancel it. My crew and I know we can fix it on time."

It was the closing ceremony's main attraction, so I really didn't have a choice.

Only 24 hours later, thanks to Bob with his terrific redesigned spaceship and his dedicated crew, we had a perfect test flight.

With five days to go, we moved our next test flights near the Coliseum. In one test flight, the giant helicopter created such a windstorm that, on Figueroa Street, it blew the small vendors' selling tables, tents and Olympic pins in every direction (they were reimbursed for their losses).

Final rehearsal flight only 24 hours to go and another problem pops up in the spaceship. It turned out to be minor and was quickly repaired. An hour to go. No more rehearsals. The next flight of this complicated Flying Taco, as it was now called by the ceremonies group, would be for real.

Everything had to work and it did -- perfectly. To the crowd in the Coliseum and the billions of television viewers around the world, it was a magical moment of sheer wonderment.

Now, 25 years later, people still ask me, "How did you get the spaceship to fly?" Well, finally here's the secret.

First, we had a giant military helicopter that was painted black and flew with no lights of any kind. Against the night sky it was invisible.

Attached to the helicopter on a 100-foot black cable was the spaceship. The spaceship was reasonably light since it was not solid. It had lights in the outline shape of a spaceship with hollow areas between. Against a black sky, the naked eye perceived it as solid.

It featured multicolored flashing lights and a giant spotlight that was powered by a small generator inside the spaceship. The light show was operated by remote control from the big helicopter.

We had two smaller helicopters hovering around the spaceship seeming to escort it to the Coliseum, but they were really there to cover up the sound of the big helicopter carrying the spaceship.

Since no one could see or hear the giant helicopter or see the black cable attached to the spaceship, it looked as if it were flying in on its own power.

I'm sure there were some flying saucer addicts who wanted to believe it was real. I hope they did; it would prove that we successfully accomplished our grand illusion.

David L. Wolper, an award-winning television and film producer, was producer of the opening and closing ceremonies of the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.

Chirije Hot Spot- UFO Sighting, 2007
Chirije, Equador

Published: 11:43 AM 8/12/2009

Chirije is located 15 km. south of Bahia De Caraquez, on the coast of Ecuador. Only 90 km. south of the equator and the only way to get there is during low tide, driving through the beach.

Chirije is an important archaeological tourist site, with exotic bungalows in a beautiful ecolodge in front of the Pacific Ocean. It is also a place with many UFO sightings, and where many fascinating UFO testimonies take place.

In these past years, there have been many UFO sightings of major importance. Chirije is an important UFO HOT SPOT, in coastal Ecuador. As a UFO investigator, I have spent many years studying these UFO phenomena in Chirije. I have come to the conclusion, that it is real.

There is a circular resting area called the UFO PORT, (ovnipuerto), where UFOs usually light rays of laser beam lights, during certain particular nights at the port. Maybe in the near future I hope, a UFO may probably land.

First case happened in 2007, to Francisco Paladines, guardian of Chirije, age 46. His first experience occurred one night when he saw strange lights hovering all over Chirije, in which he saw the UFO PORT totally illuminated. But he didn’t understand what was going on, and happening to him.

At first he was scared and confused, actually he didn’t know until he saw a green-yellow UFO on top of him in the night sky. He tried to take a picture with his cell phone but it went away, turning into a reddish star-like object to the horizon.

This is a fascinating story about an eyewitness who has been living in Chirije for nine years. He said he has seen strange beams of yellow light illuminating the UFO port, and all over Chirije. This happened around 7.30 to 8.30 pm. It was high tide, in a dark night, when the full moon comes out later.

There are other witnesses that have seen the same shows of laser beams at the edge of the beach and at the ocean. Many times these laser beams form geometrical shows of light roads, crossing and hovering over the ocean and then suddenly disappearing and fading away into the horizon.

The light beams and UFO spectacles appear only when it is high tide of the full moon, but in dark nights, and when the full moon comes out later during the night. Most of the time UFOs appear at about 7.30 pm and last for many hours.

Nevada - Three Unknowns Seen
08-06-09 - My daughter and I were headed up to Lake Tahoe from Reno through Carson City. I had the pleasure of being the passenger for a change. We were driving through Washoe Valley when I looked up to the clouds and saw a white cylinder object flying straight north to south very fast.

I saw no tail part, no wings, nor shadows of wings or reflections. Just white. Then it went off into the distance into a cloud. Over 30 minutes I saw three of these things, identical, featureless, and flying in the same direction through the clouds. The clouds were fairly thick so I have no idea if there were more of them. That's it folks! source: www.mufon.com

West Virginia - UFO Makes U-Turn
05-28-09 -I was out walking the dog, looking skyward, and spotted what I thought to be a satellite passing overhead, not unusual, I thought. It was moving straight from south to north until it reached approx. 45 degrees of the horizon.

At that point, it made an abrupt u-turn and came back a short distance alongside its original track. I became very excited, naturally, and was thinking "this is it and it cannot be explained away." The object appeared to make some short moves to the northwest and southeast, then either stopped or disappeared.

If it stopped, I couldn't discern it from the stars. I was very excited, my wife was on the porch but wasn't able to see due to lights and I couldn't get her to join me in the yard.

At that time, I reported it to Brian Vike, where I have reported other objects similar to those posted on MUFON this year. I regularly watch for the ISS and Shuttle, and also spot satellites and Cosmos or other rocket bodies. As far as I know, satellites and space junk do not make abrupt u-turns. source: www.mufon.com

Texas - Multiple Sightings
Ongoing - Have witnessed an average of about six objects a night. The sightings occur as soon as the first stars appear. Bright star like objects, moving at a rate similar to shuttle or space station. Objects are high altitude, with varying trajectories, and behavior.

Some have descended, lit brightly and disappeared in a vertical ascent. Altitude here is around five hundred feet, we can't view satellites. Having lived in Taos Co. NM, before, I know the difference. Our location is 35 miles east of Austin, TX., in McDade. source: www.ufocasebook.com

United Kingdom - Two Reports
08-09-09 - Dawley Shropshire saw 5 (maybe 6) bright orange objects flying in close formation over the weekend. No detail of the UFO could be made as it was too dark.

UFO appeared to be moving quite slowly in an easterly direction. Could just be preparation for an air show though as I also witnessed the red arrows flying over Dawley earlier the previous day heading in the same direction - Mark - source: www.ufocasebook.com

08-13-09 - Here's a video I uploaded to Youtube of a UFO sighting.

It was recorded by my Dad and his mate at 10 pm on the 13th of August in Halewood, Liverpool. Twice they came by in the same routine and he filmed them on their second passing. If you look closely you can pick out that there is actually three lights in the shape of a triangle.

If you have any queries, reply to this email. Thank you, and I hope it gets put up on the site. source: www.ufocasebook.com
