Multi-Colored Objects Seen over Ocean from Florida
UFO Depiction
Published: 11:16 AM 8/25/2011

Jacksonville, Florida - 08-22-11

Longitude: -81.655651 - Latitude: 30.3321838

Shape: Flash, Sphere, Other

Distance: Over one mile

I was asleep around 6.15 am, as my son woke me up saying there was a UFO outside.

He was lying in his bed and he has a big window there, and he told me he was looking outside when he noticed a bright light due east out over the ocean.

He was fascinated by the beautiful colors that were emitting from it. Then suddenly it split into two objects. Then he jumped up and woke me, and we both went out on our back porch and that's when I saw it.

He was describing to me about how it split in two halves then went back together. I thought he may have just mistakenly thought that part.

I got my binoculars so I could get a better look at it. When I looked at it I just saw multiple colors flashing at a rapid rate. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

I have spent 40 plus years as a boat captain and have seen all kinds of unexplained craft over the years, but this one really got my attention because of the unusually bright colors coming from it.

As we watched in awe, it split apart again and we started hollering loud because we knew it was something serious.

I called my nephew to see if he could see it. He was out on a shrimp boat working and he answered. I asked to look to the east and see if he could see it.

I was telling him we were seeing an object out that way. He instantly started shouting, "God look at all those colors!" He got the crew on board to look too.

I could hear them shouting in the background. They saw it and we all were having an adrenaline rush.

My son stayed as long as he could before he had to leave for work.

I sat there for a few more minutes and it finally just disappeared into thin air. Words can't explain the excitement we felt and it was like we all saw something very unique, and I know it was a special event and it doesn't matter if people are going to blow it off and say we saw a planet or a star or swamp gas.

We saw it and that's a fact.

The moon was overhead and Venus was close to the moon and was clear as a bell. What we saw wasn't any of that. I'm sure!

It was so brilliant and the bright colors around the outer edge were flashing beautiful colors so fast it was unbelievable.

After that I came back inside and just thought wow! That wasn't the first time we've seen UFOs and we all know that there's more life in the cosmos than our minds can comprehend.

People need to accept that and move on. I wish we could have had all of the skeptics with us this morning and let them tell us it was a weather balloon. Ha-ha!

What we saw would have sent them to a mental institution. Especially when it jumped apart and turned into two objects.

A Flying Saucer at 50
UFO Depiction
Published: 10:41 AM 8/24/2011

by Nick Redfern

In March 1960, the U.S. Air Force and NASA became deeply embroiled in a controversial UFO event involving a man named Joseph Perry, of Grand Blanc, Michigan, who claimed to have photographed a UFO in the night sky approximately two weeks earlier. It was an affair that – officially, at least, finally came to a close 50-years ago this very week.

Joseph Perry was interviewed by agents of the Detroit office of the FBI on March 5, 1960, who, in turn forwarded their files on the strange affair to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations at Selfridge Air Force Base, and to senior personnel at NASA headquarters. Interestingly, a handwritten note from a NASA source to the FBI on the matter states:

“Please do what you can to obtain Mr. Perry’s photograph for our interest. An opportunity to examine would be appreciated.”

Perry, who at the time operated a pizza restaurant in Grand Blanc, had, recorded the FBI in a memorandum to NASA, “been a professional photographer for thirty years,” and often took pictures of the Moon with his homemade telescope.

At around 1.00 a.m. on February 21, 1960, Perry told the FBI – and, by default, NASA too – that he took a number of photographs of the Moon, duly developed them in his very own darkroom, and while looking at them later, was astonished to notice what appeared to be nothing less than “a flying object somewhere between the end of his telescope and the surface of the Moon.”

A highly excited Perry quickly had the picture “blown up;” something that now made the object much clearer. As Perry carefully scrutinized the new version of the picture, he could see that it appeared to show a clearly delineated, structured vehicle that was oval shaped, had a flat bottom, seemed to be surrounded by a fluorescent glow, and even appeared to have “a vapor trail running behind it.”

The FBI advised NASA that Perry “has taken over one thousand pictures of the Moon and has never seen anything resembling this object.”

Certain that he had captured something truly anomalous on film, Perry duly furnished the FBI with the relevant, original photograph – who then sent it to the aforementioned Office of Special Investigations at Selfridge Air Force Base. From there, it made its way to the heart of NASA – and summarily vanished.

By this time, the media had latched onto the story: the Michigan-based Flint Journal splashed details of the affair, in bold headlines, across its pages. Notably, the newspaper chose to quote the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP), who had informed Perry, much to his justified concern as it later transpired, that: “From past experience with photographic evidence we consider it unlikely that you will ever see your picture again.”

Perry responded by contacting the FBI, who merely commented that the picture was now in the “proper hands,” to which Perry responded: “The only way I will be satisfied if I don’t get it back is if the Government tells me it is top secret.”

In the weeks and months that followed, a considerable file was built up by NASA and the FBI with respect to Perry’s photograph, much of which dealt with his concerns about trying to retrieve his property from officialdom.

Matters were resolved, to the satisfaction of NASA, the FBI, and the Air Force Office of Special Investigations at least, when, according to the official documentation on the affair, Perry was duly advised that “what appeared to be a flying object in this slide is actually a part of the negative which was not properly developed.”

Naturally, this statement did very little to satisfy those who insisted that the photograph genuinely showed some form of structured vehicle that had its origins on another world – and particularly so Joseph Perry, who viewed the whole situation through mystified and suspicious eyes.

Possibly recognizing that this controversy was going to run and run unless quick steps were taken to curb the situation, NASA and the FBI both insisted to all inquirers that this was a matter for the Air Force, and only the Air Force, and, thus, duly steered all incoming letters in the direction of the Air Force.

In time, the controversy surrounding the matter of Joseph Perry’s missing photograph, and the deep interest exhibited by officialdom, faded away.

The last entry in the file: one of August 25, 1961, in which the Air Force commented: “A copy of Mr. Perry’s photograph was shown to analysts from [Deleted] who are considering [Deleted]…”

Precisely which agency or department the mysterious “analysts” came from is unknown, as it the precise nature of what is was they were “considering.”

However, this may mean that although – officially – the matter was shut-down 50-years ago this very week, someone, somewhere may have continued with a bit of digging of the clandestine and cosmic variety…

Out of the Ordinary - ‘More Than a Believer’
Lorne Johnson poses with his two hand-made “grey ET” mannequins, next to his UFO KID license plate. The former Inco employee has been researching extraterrestrial life for nearly four decades. Photo by Marg Seregelyi

This is the first piece in Out of the Ordinary, a series celebrating the uniqueness of Sudburians. If you’d like to be featured in the column, or know of someone who should, e-mail - editor@northernlife.ca.

Thirty-nine years ago, Lorne Johnson witnessed something that would forever change what he believed in.

After a late-night movie with a friend, Johnson and his female companion took a drive about “20 miles north-west” of the city. As the car crested a hill, Johnson saw a glowing light radiating from a sand pit.

At first, he didn’t think much of it. Soon after, he realized it was highly unlikely anyone would be working in the remote area at 2:30 a.m.

Leaving his date in the car, Johnson trekked into the bush. The pulsating beams were the only thing lighting the dark night sky. Johnson said the air was completely still. He could hear his ear drums vibrating.

Surrounded by the white light, he decided it might be safer to head back to his car. As they drove away, Johnson said he could see the shining light 25 feet above the tree line, he recalled.

Since having that experience, Johnson has become “more than a believer” in alien life.

For the past 26 years, Johnson has been researching UFOs and extraterrestrials (ETs). He said he’s come across some interesting artifacts — such as an energy-filled stone, shaped just like a spaceship, and a polished rock that appears to have alien face.

He said he believes the year 2012 will bring aliens and humans to a state of friendly co-existence. To illustrate his beliefs, the former Inco worker has made mannequin heads modeled after “grey ET” images. The two statues sit above the backseat of his car, nestled among other pieces of alien paraphenalia.

Since putting them in his car, Johnson said nearly 20 people have photographed them with cell phone cameras while stopped at traffic lights or in parking lots.

“When people see this, it makes them think outside the box,” he said.

And that’s a good thing, as far as he’s concerned.

“I feel sorry for people who have been programmed (to think according to tradition),” he said.

To complete his vehicle setup, Johnson’s license plate even reads UFO KID. The Ufologist is convinced that aliens coming to Earth will be a positive experience for everyone.

“Nothing but good is coming,” he said.

Looking for UFOs Can Leave a Crick in Your Neck
UFO Depiction
Published: 4:28 PM 8/23/2011

UFO spotting now days can yield great results. UFOs are not only being spotted in the USA but all over the world. Activity has definitely increased and it is becoming more active every day!

I received a report from a friend just the other day. My friend told me he saw what he called 3 unlit chevrons flying over his head.

He could clearly make out the shapes as they flew silently over his head. He told me that while the 3 units were flying over he also observed a large glowing red orb shortly after seeing the 3 chevron/ boomerang objects flying over.

I live in Kansas where I have also been witness to many unexplained sightings of strange objects in our skies. Most are of high fliers that appear at satellite height.

After we check to see if they could be satellites we usually come to discover the objects had observed were not anything known in that space at that time. The objects I have seen are usually moving south to north or vice versa.

In October 2008, my wife, a friend, and I all witnessed, while out one Kansas night, 12 to 14 amber colored orbs moving over us from northwest to southeast.

They were flying extremely fast, yet low enough to reflect the trees on their bottom side. The objects almost reminded me of a grouping of balloons however their speed and agility soon ruled out that idea.

My friends, wife and I all reported this sighting to the National UFO Reporting Service. We all knew we had seen something that was unknown and truly amazing!

Kansas is a state of open skies and bright night skies. Many of us here have seen many things that we know are not the usual air traffic and definitely strange and unknown.

If you want to see something spectacular I will give you a few tips.

First you have to make an effort to see something. They will not fly into your living room! Be sure to make some time every clear night to break out the telescope or binoculars - grab a lawn chair and some bug spray, along with some family and friends and be patient. The trick is to sit there and simply watch the sky.

The first thing that will happen is that you will quickly learn what is normal to your sky and what isn't.

Once you are accustomed to what is a daily happening as far as normal sky activity you will be able to separate the wheat from the chaff. You will soon be amazed at how many non- airplane objects that you will see in the sky.

Once you realize you are seeing unexplained activity you need to keep track of the time and direction the craft is moving along with estimated speed, size of craft and every detail you can of your sighting.

Having a witness with you is always a good idea as many seeing the same unknown is far better than just one lone report.

Do you have a camera? A video recorder? Learn to keep it with you as a picture or video is always worth a thousand words. If you can gain photo or video evidence to correspond to your sighting, great!

The main thing to try to train yourself to do - is to just keep looking up! You will eventually see something that you or others just do not understand. The reason so many of us do not see strange things going on around or above us is that we simply do not look at what is happening to us right in front of our own eyes.

You also need to understand that what is really in our skies may not resemble what you have been trained to think of as unknown crafts or objects by Hollywood and TV.

Keep an open mind as strange objects may come in many different shapes or forms. The main thing to keep in mind is if you have ever seen anything like it before or if you can come up with a logical explanation for what you are looking at.

If the answer is no the chances are you are looking at an unknown craft of some type.

Remember by definition once you have seen something no one can explain or identify the odds are very high that you have seen a UFO.

For a long time now I have a strong intuition that something huge is looming on our horizon. I am not sure what that something is, but I can feel it coming. I could make a few suggestions to what I feel it is but would rather just say I know it is coming.

The one thing I am sure of is that UFO activity is increasing worldwide. With that said it is without question, time for all of us to get out those lawn chairs and binoculars or simply to start looking up when we are out and about in the world.

I promise you it is only a matter of time before you too will see something that you cannot identify.

I know looking for crafts, orbs or strange lights crossing our sky can leave a crick in your neck but in the end the pain is worth the wait.

Thank you for reading what I had to say about the strangeness in our skies.

Multiple UFOs/Military Jets Seen between Globe and Miami, Arizona
UFO Depiction
Published: 12:35 PM 8/25/2011

Between Globe/Miami, Arizona - 08-20-11

Shape: Light

Duration: 90 minutes

My husband and I heard and saw 2 presumed military jets, white with red lights, chasing 4 very fast, erractic in movement white-yellow lights.

My husband and I were in our backyard spa at 19:35 hours between Globe and Miami, Arizona.

Within a 5 minute span we heard several passes of the familiar sound of military jets (I was born in Globe-Miami area and have lived here 47 years).

We both talked about how unusual it was to hear so many military jet passes. My husband was facing the EAST sky and told me to look.

I saw 2 white-yellow circular lights and 2 objects (white with red lights) in the sky. The white-yellow circular lights were faster than the other 2 objects in the sky.

It looked like the 2 objects were chasing the circular lights but could not keep up because the circular lights were making erratic moves and were much faster.

One of the circular lights would go right, then make an extreme northern change in direction while the other circular light would go left and disappear and then reappear.

Then a 3rd and 4th circular light would appear. Once in a while they would be headed in the same direction and then split off and circle in other directions while the 2 objects (white with red lights) would try and follow them.

At one point, there were 4 white-yellow circular lights and 2 (white objects with red lights).

We continued to occasionally hear the military jets (white objects with red lights) over the next 10 minutes, and then they disappeared.

The next hour we continued to watch 1 to 4 white-yellow circular lights dancing in the sky. They made impossible erratic movements. A few times the lights would stay in one place, then suddenly race across the sky.

The lights would sometimes get larger (as big as a star) with the naked eye, and then change directions and get smaller (1/2 the size of a star).

The UFOs would occasionally circle instead of making sharp turns. There was a 5 minute increment that we did not see UFOs, then they appeared again for another 20 minutes.

By then we were using binoculars and the white-yellow lights appeared more spherical than circular.

Pilot, Co-Pilot Encounter UFO over Lake Michigan - 1981
UFO Depiction
Published: 10:54 AM 9/14/2010

Lake Michigan - 1981

In 1981, TWA Captain Phil Schultz was flying a passenger jet over Lake Michigan on a bright, clear summer day. Suddenly he saw a “large, round, silver metal object” with six jet black “portholes” equally spaced around the circumference, which quickly “descended into the atmosphere from above.”

Captain Schultz and his co-pilot were so close to the object that it appeared to Schultz to be the size of a grapefruit held at arm’s length. Expecting a mid-air collision, they braced themselves for impact.

The object then made a sharp, high speed turn, avoiding the aircraft, and departed.

Haines Drawing of Schulz Encounter

This drawing of the event was made by Dr. Richard Haines, former senior scientist with NASA, while he sat with Captain Schultz in his cockpit.

The Captain completed a detailed report for Haines, who interviewed him extensively. (Courtesy Richard F. Haines)

Schulz in Cockpit

In this photograph, Captain Schultz demonstrates the size and location of the object relative to his cockpit window.

With extensive experience as a US Navy fighter pilot in the Korean War and afterward, Captain Shultz never accepted the reality of UFOs prior to this incident. This encounter changed that.

He wrote as much in his handwritten report, saying he had no choice but to characterize the object as “spaceship.” (photo (C) courtesy Richard F. Haines)
