UFO Encounter near Charlotte, North Carolina
Published: 5:27 PM 9/26/2009
North Carolina - 02-10-09
Every Tuesday I travel to Cornelius to play cards at a comic store. On February 10, 2009, I had an
incredible sighting at a range closer than anything I can find in many UFO chronicles across the web.
At about 6:15-6:20 on February 10, 2009, I saw a large circular object floating above Highway 16 on the west side of Charlotte, NC. I was driving toward Huntersville when I saw the grayish object floating right above the trees. It was kind of shaped like a flat disk or acorn, and was floating above the trees on the right of the highway.
The object appeared to be between 50 to 100 feet in diameter and no more than 10 or 20 feet tall. I first noticed the object about 200 yards ahead of me, and I could not see the entire circumference, yet it was a circular object suspended in mid-air. As it was I became immensely curious as to what was keeping it suspended.
When I approached the object I realized that it was hovering without suspension partially over the highway and the trees on the right side of the road. From a distance it seemed to be shrouded in shadows at the very end of dusk when the sun is on the horizon.
As I approached I could see in clear detail four lights all on opposite sides in a sort of perfect X-formation on the bottom of the object along with hollow hole in the center of the bottom of the saucer. The skin of the object seemed to be made of a grayish metal with clear, straight seams in a seemingly symmetrical pattern.
Across the bottom of the object there seemed to be markings that looked almost hieroglyphic in nature. In the center of the object there was an empty black hole like there was a middle cylinder removed from the structure. The method of flight of the object seemed to be something completely out of this world, yet since I was on the ground and could not clearly see the top of the object, I could not tell if it had any sort of propeller keeping it adrift in mid-air, yet from every angle that I had a visual I did not see anything that would explain its method of flight.
The skin almost reminded me of a smooth pewter with a pattern that was grid-like with the hieroglyphic symbols in each cell. From the distance I was it seemed to be texture on the outer surface but I could faintly make out markings in the pattern, but I had no idea what they meant.
This simple fact - that the object was simply floating a few feet above the trees on the right of the road interested me most, When I realized that the object was beyond the human capacity of technological development, I remember feeling a sudden fear that I should not be witnessing what I was seeing.
When I passed under the object for a brief moment, I remember passing almost directly under one of the light fixtures which I remember seeing with clear detail. It seemed to emit an intense cone of light similar to those that illuminate night construction on highways, if not brighter.
The light seemed to be held onto the object on two sides by small V-like metal structures, and the light itself could not have been larger than one of our manufactured 100 watt generic bulbs, yet it burned with great intensity.
The center hole of the object was most peculiar because it seemed to ascend into the object into a total blackness which my eyes couldn’t penetrate. The hole, from what I could tell, probably took up about 10-20% of the base
surface area and was in the exact center of the object.
When I passed under the object I remember nothing but fear and curiosity in the object. I must have been going close to 100 mph when I was passing under it to get out of its way, and the only thought of stopping for a picture was thwarted with my fears of abduction.
I still to this day pass by the very curve on Highway 16, and remember the sighting every time I drive that route.
(Editor's Note: The witness of this account sent me two excellent drawings of what he saw. The full size images are 1600x1200. Please click on the two images below to see or download at full size.)
There are 2 shots, and I would say that they are at least 95% accurate. The
first is a view from the road a little higher than my car, which is
portrayed, and shows the shape and location of the object over the road.
The second is a close up of as near as I can remember to what the light
fixtures and the pattern on the skin looked like.
Of course the symbols in the grid on the 2nd sketch are hypothesized, I remember clearly certain
aspects, such as the grid-like pattern on the skin, straight edge symbols,
the way the lights were moving, and how the mechanisms looked, that led me to
describing this sketch to the artist.

Unknown Objects Photographed over Melbourne, Australia
Published: 8:37 AM 10/2/2009
Melbourne, Australia - 09-08-09
I took this photo on 09-08-09 in Melbourne, Australia. I'm not sure if anyone besides us saw these objects, but they were moving at a high rate and two other people were with me at the time.
I work in the city as a stockbroker and I was walking home with two colleagues when we saw the objects darting around moving really fast, then they just stopped on a dime.
One colleague is this shaken by this event, and the strange thing was (and this is what still has us up in arms) is the objects seemed to disappear and go invisible within the clouds, then slowly reappear.
There was no noise that we could hear, but we were on a main road and there was traffic noise. W have not said anything to anyone, and in my line of work it wouldn't be looked upon as a good thing that we saw alien crafts.

Gary Heseltine Moonlights as UFO Investigator
Published: 12:01AM BST 28 Sep 2009
Serving police officer Gary Heseltine has become a specialist in investigating UFO sightings by his colleagues. The 49-year-old detective constable, who works for British Transport Police in Leeds, has studied weird and wonderful conundrums in the UK's skies for years.
Seven years ago Det Con Heseltine created a database to cover UFO sightings by officers both on and off duty.
He has now investigated more than 330 cases involving more than 750 officers.
His favourite relates to 1979 when three unsuspecting bobbies parked up for a chat and a cigarette in a quiet country lane at 3am.
"One of the best to come my way was from Chiltern in the Thames Valley in 1979 involving a PC Eric Rayment and two of his colleagues," he said. "It was an amazing report."
They didn't think much of a bright white light in the distance that blurred into view for a few seconds before continuing their conversation.
"Five minutes later and suddenly the bright white light appears and it's the size of a football pitch shining a beam down the width of a football field," said the father-of-three. "It was at an altitude of about 500 feet and was about a mile away from where they were."
After moving its beam across the landscape a remarkable thing happened.
"There are smaller objects flying around the larger object akin to the mother ship and suddenly it's gone, as corny as it sounds," the detective said.
Det Con Heseltine's interest in the paranormal was sparked when he was just 15. He was walking his girlfriend home one evening in Scunthorpe when a white light past over them and appeared to be causing power cuts in neighbourhoods as it flew overhead.
He raced home to warn his parents that the light was coming their way.
They laughed at him but minutes later the light appeared and their power supply was lost too.
He has had two more first hand close encounters during the last 12 years. At about 9.15pm on August 21 1999, he was sitting in the garden of his Wakefield home watching the stars.
"It was a lovely summer's night, I was looking at the stars when my partner drew my attention to three white lights in a triangle above the house in an arrowhead formation. "From the initial movement I thought it might be one object but I could see stars between the object."
"It moved side on like a Red Arrows formation but normal planes don't fly in that formation. "It banked away from me and turned as one. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up."
"I knew I was looking at something extremely unusual. I don't know definitively what it was but I know planes do not travel in that formation. Very few things take my breath away but that really did. I was stunned."
Det Con Heseltine, who worked as a policeman with the RAF between 1983 and 1989, was bringing the washing in one night in April two years ago when he got his binoculars to study a flying white shape.
"I saw a bright white sphere coming head on towards me with no navigational lights," he said.
"I was bringing the washing in but I dropped it all on the floor as I ran in to get my binoculars. "I got an aided view of it for a few seconds and it was a perfect white sphere with no engine or wings and no navigational lights."
The officer said the Ministry of Defence did not give a "rat's a***" about well-meaning people who do report paranormal phenomena.
And he said Britain and America were two of the world's most secretive countries which would never admit they did not fully control their own air space.
"Ninety-five per cent of sightings will have a mundane explanation," he said. "But that other 5 per cent - that's what I specialise in."

The Flying Cross UFO
Published: 10:03 AM 10/2/2009
They always say that UFOs, just like people, come in all shapes and sizes. Of course, the most common UFO shapes are the disc, or flying saucer shape, the round orbs, and the flying triangles. However, on rare occasion, an unusually shaped object is seen and documented.
One of the most compelling cases of an odd-shaped UFO occurred in 1967 between the cities of Okehampton and Holsworthy, in Devon, U.K. The case is known as the “Flying Cross” incident.
The cross itself is often related to the Christian symbol of the cross on which Jesus Christ was crucified, but the Devon case had no religious overtones. The case receives a high degree of credibility because it was witnessed first hand by two policemen, PC Clifford Waycott, and PC Roger Willey.
The two officers first spotted the cross-shaped UFO flying just over the treetops between the two aforementioned cities on October 24, 1967.
The two officers began a hot pursuit of the object, but could never gain ground on it, as it moved across the countryside. The UFO would slow to about 50 miles per hour, and even stop in midair, but as they approached it, the UFO would fly away from them, at times gaining speeds of up to 90 miles per hour. The entire chase covered 14 miles.
Though each policeman had the other to corroborate his own reality, they both decided to stop at a farm house to get a third person to tell them they were not hallucinating. They broke off their chase of the object because of the high speeds they were traveling-afraid they would cause an accident, and injure or kill an innocent pedestrian.
The flying cross would eventually disappear from their view, but before it did, a second one appeared. It was also very bright, yet made no sound that the two officers could hear. They were both amazed at how quickly the objects could accelerate from a hovering position.
This fact alone was enough to convince the two policeman that what they were seeing were not conventional airplanes.
Later at a press conference, Waycott would remark: “The light wasn’t piercing, but it was very bright. It was star-spangled-just like looking through wet glass and although we reached 90 MPH it accelerated away from us.”
In the next couple of days, there would be numerous other sightings of the flying cross UFOs, and remarkably, six police officers in Glossop, Derbyshire reported the sighting of a “fiery” cross.
In the ensuing investigation, the closest air base to the incident, RAF Chivenor was queried, but denied having radar confirmation of any “unknown” objects. The flying crosses seemed to make themselves known for a brief period of time, and then disappear quietly into the annals of Ufology.

Tyrone, PA-UFO Emits Beam Of Light - Is Photographed In Flight, 10-20-02
I received an email report of a UFO incident from the witness involved. The sighting reportedly occurred on Sunday, October 20, 2002, near Tyrone, PA in Blair County. The man forwarded details concerning his experience, as well as two color photographs that he took of the object before it departed.
The witness indicated that he had also forwarded this material to the National UFO Reporting Center.
The witness is very concerned about being ridiculed, and requests not to be identified. Due to his concerns, my only communication with the witness has been via email. He has responded to my request for additional details concerning his observation.
Due to computer problems, I am unable to post the photographs at this time. I have talked with Peter Davenport at the National UFO Reporting Center, who is expected to post the pictures as soon as he completes his sighting report updates.
Sighting report narrative:
The witness was hiking in the woods on Ice Mountain near the town of Tyrone. The man had stayed out longer than he expected that day. He estimated that it was about 7:30 P.M. (local time) as he was walking back to his vehicle, when he noticed a bright light south of his location, moving towards him in a northerly direction.
His first impression was that it was an airplane.
The light appeared similar to the brightness of a normal aircraft light when first observed. He then noticed that the light suddenly stopped, then began to pulsate and appear to brighten and dim. The witness then noticed a faint haze that was orange-red in color, and which encircled the object.
The pulsation pattern of the light began to increase, and it started to flicker very rapidly. The light became much brighter as it pulsated. Suddenly a thin beam of very bright blue-white light was emitted from the bottom of the object to the ground. The witness points out that this was not an ordinary searchlight.
The witness stated, "This was no searchlight. Even a well focused searchlight tends to diffuse with distance, but this light was a tight, bright beam from top to bottom."
The man tried to describe the appearance of the beam with the following statement. "Imagine a piece of dental floss held at arms length, and you'll have a good idea of the beam's apparent width from my location."
The witness said that the pulsating effect suddenly stopped, and the beam of light went out. The observer commented, "As far as the form, I couldn't see any craft or object per se, just the bright light itself and the beam that came down from it, as it was pretty dark at the time." The object at first appeared to be circular in shape and orange-red in color. When the object stopped moving and began pulsating it seemed more oval or egg shaped.
The object continued to hover in the sky, and the witness ran to his vehicle which was about 100 yards away, to get his Olympus digital camera. The witness took one photograph as the object hovered, then a second picture was obtained just as the object was beginning to move around slowly in a tight circle.
As the man prepared to take a third picture, the object, "suddenly shot straight up in the air at fantastic speed and was gone from sight."
The sky conditions at the time of observation were described as partly cloudy. The witness did not detect any sound, or odd smells during the sighting. The witness estimates the total incident lasted about 5 minutes or less.
The witness commented that at the location where the light beam appeared to meet the ground, he estimated that he was about 1/4 mile away, or farther from the object, and that it was about 1,000 feet in altitude.
The witness also mentioned that there is a large microwave relay tower at the top of the mountain, and, "the beam appeared to be hitting the ground close to the tower." The man couldn't see the exact spot where the beam hit.
In closing, the witness had these comments to make. "I don't know what this thing was, but I know I've never seen anything like it before." and "If anyone else saw this object, please let me know. If for no other reason, so I can stop questioning my sanity."

California - Multi-Colored Object
09-18-09- My cat woke me up about 5 am, and I glanced out the window and saw a far-off multicolored star-like object darting around in the sky. I woke my wife up from a sound sleep, and told her I think I see a UFO and she witnessed it too.
This object was darting around at incredible speeds and making complete start and stops instantly. Also, it was
pulsating in a beautiful multi-colored fashion. I was pretty blown away by the object since I’ve NEVER seen anything
move like it did.
It was by far the most beautiful and mysterious event I’ve ever seen in the sky. After about 6-8
minutes the object faded from sight by either moving too far away or simply faded out. As far as I can tell it was 40
miles or so away to the northeast somewhere above eastern Santa Rosa, CA or northern Sonoma area. Source: www.mufon.com
Florida - Red, Glowing Object
09-21-09 - I was in my bedroom and my mother called me from outside on the balcony. She pointed out to sea and there was a red glowing orb. She said she had watched it for 5 minutes. Then as we were standing there watching it, another one blinked in to the right of it.
I couldn’t believe what I had just seen. It just appeared, so I ran and got my binoculars and looked at them to see if I could see any blinking lights of any kind, but they were solid red orbs. Then the one to the left blinked out and then a few minutes later, the other one did the same. Source: www.mufon.com
New York - Object, Somewhat Triangular
09-21-09 - the first person to notice the object was my uncle as he was leaving my aunt's house, which is located on
the south shore of Long Island. The backyard faces west, the object was observed by me and 7 other people
moving slowly from west to west by northwest. On occasion the object moved towards the east. The object was in the sky for more than two hours.
Unfortunately no media evidence was captured due to the fact the object was more than 10 miles away, at first it
seemed to be parachute or a plastic bag, but once we found a pair of binoculars I and others saw that it was a flying
object, hovering in place and moving on its own will.
Also noted was the fact that the object did not follow any type of pattern or destination. Once seen through the lenses, I saw that the object was somewhat triangular in frame but with very soft edges giving it a round structure, the center of the object was open, with the exception of three columns going through it. Texas - Two Witness Strange Lights
09-21-09 - On Monday, September 21, 2009, at approximately 9:00 PM, I witnessed an unexplainable event in
Kingwood, TX. I was driving south on Loop 494 between Royal Crossing Drive and Kingwood Drive, near the entrance to
the Homewood Suites Hotel. The entire sky suddenly became brightly lit in a bluish color.
This lasted approximately 1 second. Another second passed and then the entire sky was lit again, but in the pattern of
2-3 large beams as if the light were coming from the horizon line. This was too large and too bright to have been any
type of spotlight.
Approximately 5 minutes later I was driving north on Forest Cove drive and a bright blue object (the same shade the lit
sky was) flew through the sky in a large arch. The light was traveling very fast. The light seemed to blink and then disappeared. I had a passenger in the front seat who also saw both events. Source: www.mufon.com
