1971 - USS John F. Kennedy and Alien Craft
John F. Kennedy
Published: 2:08 PM 11/29/2011

This encounter occurred in 1971, while aboard the aircraft carrier, USS John F. Kennedy CVA-67 (now CV-67) in the Bermuda Triangle.

I was assigned to the communications department of the Kennedy and had been in this section about a year.

The ship was returning to Norfolk, VA, after completing a two week operational readiness exercise (ORE) in the Caribbean. We were to stand down for 30 days, after arriving in Norfolk, Virginia, to allow the crew to take leave and visit family before deploying to the Mediterranean for six months.

I was on duty in the communications center. My task was to monitor eight teletypes printing the "Fleet Broadcasts." On the top row were four teletypes each printing messages from four different channels.

On the bottom row were four more doing the exact same thing, except the signal was carried on different frequencies. If one of the primary receivers started taking "hits" I would be able to retrieve the message from the bottom one.

I also notified Facilities Control of any hits so they could tune the receivers. On the other side of the compartment room was the NAVCOMMOPNET (Naval Communications Operations Network).

This was the Ship to Shore circuit with the top teletype being the receive and the bottom as the send (known as a duplex circuit). Next to this was the Task Group Circuit for ship to ship communications (task group operations or TGO).

It was in the evening, about 20:30 (8:30 PM) and the ship had just completed an eighteen hour "Flight Ops." I had just taken a message off one of the broadcasts and turned around to file it on a clip board. When I turned back to the teletypes the primaries were typing garbage.

I looked down to the alternates which were doing the same. I walked a few feet to the intercom between us and the Facilities Control. I called them and informed them of the broadcasts being out.

A voice replied that all communications were out. I then turned and looked in the direction of the NAVCOMMOPNET and saw that the operator was having a problem.

I then heard the Task Group operator tell the watch officer that his circuit was out also. In the far corner of the compartment were the pneumatic tubes going to the Signal Bridge (where the flashing light and signal flag messages are sent/receive).

There is an intercom there to communicate with the Signal Bridge and over this intercom we heard someone yelling "There is something hovering over the ship!" A moment later we heard another voice yelling. "IT IS GOD! IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!”

We all looked at each other, there were six of us in the Comm Center, and someone said, "Let’s go have a look!”

The Comm Center is amidships, just under the flight deck, almost in the center of the ship. We went out the door, through Facilities Control and out that door, down the passageway (corridor) about 55 feet to the hatch that goes out to the catwalk on the edge of the flight deck (opposite from the "Island" or that part of the ship where the bridge is).

If you have ever been to sea, there is a time called the time of no horizon. This happens in the morning and evening just as the sun comes up or goes down over the horizon.

During this time you cannot tell where the sea and sky meet. This is the time of evening it was. As we looked up, we saw a large, glowing sphere.

Well it seemed large; however, there was no point of reference. That is to say, if the sphere were low; say 100 feet above the ship, and then it would have been about two to three hundred feet in diameter.

If it was 500 feet about the ship then it would have been larger. It made no sound that I could hear.

The light coming from it wasn't too bright, about half of what the sun would be. It sort of pulsated a little and was yellow to orange.

We didn't get to look at it for more than about 20 seconds because General Quarters (Battle stations) was sounding and the Communication Officer was in the passageway telling us to get back into the Comm Center.

We returned and stayed there (that was out battle station). We didn't have much to do because all the communication was still out.

After about 20 minutes, the teletypes started printing correctly again. We stayed at General Quarters for about another hour, then secured. I didn't see or hear of any messages going out about the incident.

Over the next few hours, I talked to a good friend that was in CIC (combat information center) who was a radar operator. He told me that all the radar screens were just glowing during the time of the incident. I also talked to a guy I knew that worked on the Navigational Bridge.

He told me that none of the compasses were working and that the medics had to sedate a boatswain’s mate that was a lookout on the signal bridge. I figured this was the one yelling it was God.

It was ironic that of the 5,000 men on a carrier, that only a handful actually saw this phenomenon. This was due to the fact that Flight Ops had just been completed a short time before this all started and all the flight deck personnel were below resting.

It should be noted that there are very few places where you can go to be out in the open air aboard a carrier. From what I could learn, virtually all electronic components stopped functioning during the 20 minutes or so that whatever it was hovered over the ship. The two Ready CAPs (Combat Air Patrol), which were two F-4 Phantoms that are always ready to be launched, would not start.

I heard from the scuttlebutt (slang - rumor mill) that three or four "men in trench coats" had landed, and were interviewing the personnel that had seen this phenomena. I was never interviewed, maybe because no one knew that I had seen it.

A few days later, as we were approaching Norfolk, the Commanding and Executive Officers came on the closed circuit TV system that we had. They did this regularly to address the crew and pass on information.

During this particular session the Captain told us how well we did on the ORE and about our upcoming deployment to the Mediterranean. At the very end of his spiel, he said "I would like to remind the crew that certain events that take place aboard a Naval Combatant Ship, are classified and are not to be discussed with anyone without a need to know."

This was all the official word I ever received or heard of the incident.

Being young and excited about my visit home and going to the Med, I completely forgot about it until years later when my wife and I went to see "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" at the movies when it first came out.

In fact the friend that had been the radar operator was with his wife and went with us. As we walked across the parking lot to my car, I ask him if he remembered what we had experienced years earlier on the ship.

He looked at me and said he never wanted to talk about it again. As he said it he turned a little pale. I never talked about the incident again.

When I discovered "Aliens and Strange Phenomenon" on MSN and started reading the posts I started thinking about it again. Now I seem obsessed in finding out all I can about this phenomena."

1978 - UFO Photographed in Buenos Aires
UFO Buenos Aires, 1978
Published: 1:29 PM 11/29/2011

By Ruben Morales

It's been more than 30 years, and there is little known, despite having a more than acceptable quality photograph, the image showing several fixed reference points that would allow a much deeper analysis of which we see below.

It was taken on November 26, 1978, by a 17-year high school student - let's call him "D." - from the window of his room, in a monoblock located in the heart of downtown Buenos Aires and in the light of day.

When I contacted the CIU (UFO Research Commission), they went to interview him at the request of his friend William Roncoroni.

In this talk D. told me that that on November 26 he was studying, sometimes sitting and sometimes walking around the room. Approaching the window, his attention was attracted by a silver object going from north to south at a constant speed.

He emphasized that the most intriguing observation was the inability to estimate the distance. The object was a small angular size, but looked more like a flying saucer. It left behind a long thin trail, very thin, thin as a pencil line (not visible in photo).

UFO Buenos Aires, 1978 Then D. recalled that on his recent birthday had been given a Kodak Instamatic camera simple, yet loaded with the first roll. He took the camera and caught it at once, before the object was out of sight.

D. described a metallic sheen on the top left of the object.

Photographic analysis.

Thirty plus years after the event, we have the technology to analyze digital photography, which at that time was only U.S. group GSW.

In principle, the photographed object is not a sticker or model attached to the glass of the window.

Looking at the picture carefully, and checked it personally when I visit the place, the leaf of the window where the UFO is open.

It's not a disc thrown into the air. The height of the building would prevent it.

And in that kind of faking always the object appears in sharp angles, never horizontal as in this case.

No faking of negative. The copy I have of 1st generation shows no signs of deliberate manipulation.

The broad objective is clearly displayed 2,000 times solid, like hat with a red tint in their areas well lit. It's hard to believe that this object was, for example, an airliner.

Applying a filter contour search, also shows that the object is strikingly symmetrical.

In the next picture we contrast the maximum image looking for tracks.

Note faint TV antennas on the terraces of the buildings, the dirt on photo paper and a few scratches in the emulsion, but no trace of thread or other support in the vicinity of the object.

UFO Buenos Aires, 1978 Finally, we have altered the contours until a color contrast to allow better view of the base of the object.

The lower middle is an oval dark with three "hot" or small patches of lighter green, non-symmetrical and distributed in the periphery of the dark area.

These details were also tested with other analysis techniques such as contouring edges and filter relief.

Strange Lights in Strathearn Skies
UFO Depiction
Published: 6:36 PM 12/2/2011

by Lynn Duke, Strathearn Herald

A STRANGE white light that appeared in the Strath sky on Friday has been puzzling residents.

“I’ve seen lanterns before,” said one who did not want to be named. “When the lanterns first came out people thought they were UFOs but this was very different. It was a white light and it was in the same place for ages.

“The lanterns are usually orange coloured and they drift across the sky. This was really bright and hanging in the sky towards the southeast. It was like a star but appeared far to low to be one. If you believed in such things you would almost have thought it was a UFO.”

Peter Reilly, from Muthill, also saw the light. He had heard his workmates talking about it before he actually saw it for himself.

He said: “My workmates in Perth saw this bright white light in the sky early on Friday morning about 6 am. They said it was quite high up in the sky, which was clear at the time. During the day, I mentioned it to my son who was working in Glasgow and he said he’d heard them talking about it on Radio Clyde. People were seeing it from the A9.

“That evening, I was out in the garden. It was a nice clear night and I could see the stars but there was also this other light up in the sky which seemed to be too low for a star. You couldn’t miss it.

"It was towards the Sherrifmuir/ Orchil direction and was well up in the sky but not as high as the stars and it definitely wasn’t a star. I saw it at 6 pm and it was still there at 10 pm. When I looked the next morning it was away.”

A spokesperson from the Royal Observatory in Edinburgh told the Herald that the light spotted in the evening could well be Jupiter, which is showing particularly well in the south east at the moment.

But Saturn is also making a big appearance in our skies just now and is in the south east in the mornings.

It is low down on the horizon, which can also have the effect of making it look larger, such as with the “moon illusion” when at certain times of the year the moon looks much bigger than normal because it is lower in the sky.

If conditions are right, this is also a good time for stargazers to see Saturn’s rings if viewed through a telescope or powerful binoculars.

UFO Film Project
Randy Hall
Published: 7:06 PM 12/2/2011

Hello, my name is Randy Hall. I want to start out by saying that I’m a believer in the truest sense of the word. I know that there has to be some sort of life outside of our planet. The odds are overwhelmingly in favor of the existence of extraterrestrial life.

Like many of you, UFOs and aliens have been a great passion in my life for a good while now. I recently graduated from film school and I’ve decided to tackle something that has been my passion project for a long time.

It started about two years ago. I was frustrated at the lack of quality films dealing with UFOs. I decided that I would make a short film that dealt with extraterrestrials with respect. After three months of writing I came up with something very special.

What was on the page was something that was funny and dramatic while also being filled with action and spectacle. And on the page is where it sat for two years.

The idea was just too big for me at the time. Upon graduating in May I was looking for something to use as my calling card as a filmmaker. I wanted something that would be big and challenge me as a filmmaker.

My UFO project instantly came to mind. The film encompasses several genres of film and is a big exciting picture with great characters and a cool premise.

It follows a group of UFO hunters who are investigating a series of sightings in rural Virginia. They are joined by a skeptical reporter from a local newspaper that is doing a story on them.

What follows is a conversation about what it is to believe that turns into an action packed race against time to get to a crash site before the government officials who are trying to cover it up.

I am writing this letter to ask for your help. With the size of the production, and the amount of visual effects in the film, the budget will be quite high. And while my producing partner and I are both working day jobs to raise as much of the budget as we can, but we simply won’t make enough in time.

Therefore, we have opened up an account on the website indiegogo.com. The website is designed to help independent artists raise funds for their projects. My hope is that you will feel some connection to this project and want to help us out.

I want to assure you all that I am approaching this film, and the subject matter, with tremendous respect. As I said, this is my passion project, and it has been in my head for the better part of two years so I am putting everything I have into it.

If you would like to help us out in any way please visit our page on indiegogo.com at http://www.indiegogo.com/The-X-Philes-1?a=326754, or you can search for x philes film in the search engine.

Thank you so very much for your time and keep watching the skies.

Strange Shaped Object Moves over Bellmawr, New Jersey
UFO Depiction
Published: 1:22 PM 11/30/2011

New Jersey - 08-15-11

I should have submitted this sooner. It was about 7:00 PM (still daylight, clear sky, and no clouds) and I was driving north bound on Black Horse Pike in Bellmawr, New Jersey.

I pulled up to the light at Wendy’s and I noticed what I thought was the front end of an airplane, about 75 to 100 yards in the air, crossing the road about a mile up ahead, going westbound.

It was very low and big.

I thought at first, wow, this plane is low, it’s going to crash. But it continued.

As it continued to cross the road it stopped, hovered for a few seconds, and then proceeded again.

While looking at it, it didn’t seem right... the front was rounded, but square, with no windows, but I noticed 3 or 4 windows on the side at the top, with more holes or exhaust ports on the side.

It had a milky-white color on the top half, and a dirty, silvery metallic bottom.

It was made of some type of metal, almost submarine like.

As the back end came across, I was expecting to see a tail or tail wings, but there was no tail, just a little hump on the back end.

It did not have any wings or rotor blades, it just drifted across the tree tops to the west and then it was gone.

I was kind of taken back for a moment, like wow that was really freakin' cool.

I looked to the person in the car next me, to see if they saw what I saw. But they turned left and showed no interest.

I served in the USAF as a Security Officer back in the late 90's and I have never seen a craft like this.

To me it was a mix between a plane, a helicopter, a sub and a space shuttle rolled into one.

The best way to describe its shape is, it looked like a flying metal loaf of bread.

Most Bizarre UFO Videotaped over Virginia - 2002
Published: 5:39 PM 11/30/2011

Virginia - 01-08-02

Heading East on the way home from my brother's house, I spotted this craft.

First, I noticed the large, red strobing ball of light underneath a cluster of lights. The thing about this that struck me odd was the distance from the large, red light to the cluster of dim, orange lights above it.

I was driving on Highway 360, and the object was heading West, toward us.

I pulled off the road and started videotaping. Notice at the beginning of the clip, that we were so excited that we forgot to take the lens cover off of the camera.

Also take notice this craft passes underneath a star, and when it does, you can still see the star.

This was videotaped in night shot mode on my Sony camcorder and that is why the color of the lights are black and white. The larger sphere of light in the center was red, the other spheres of light were amber.

That was the only colors of the light that we saw. I have uploaded a couple variations of this video on youtube, but, the difference in this clip is the beginning of the video.

The music and the scrolling explanation of what we saw comes from my Video that I produced a few years back that feature many of my interesting UFO footage videos.

(Editor's Note: We have edited out some of the blank footage at the beginning of the video when the lens cap was on. We have also denoised and enhanced the quality of the original video.)
