UFO sightings in New York have captured the attention of the news networks and crowds of people.
I reviewed 27 of these reports and found two dates that I would like to share with you.
The first incident occurred in Manhattan on October 13, 2010. This was a daytime UFO sighting witnessed by hundreds, if not thousands, of people.
In a somewhat surprising departure from the normal routine this sighting was actually covered by local news networks.
In the early evening, a reporter at the scene from Fox News said she noticed a bright light in the sky. At first she thought the light was a star. However, after her cameraman zoomed in on the object, a tail and blue flashing lights were visible.
There was no way for her to determine if this was one of the objects people had reported earlier in the day.
Eye witnesses during the daytime event reported seeing up to 50 objects in the sky. As time passed, the objects disappeared until finally they were all gone in the late afternoon.
It is believed the daytime objects were balloons released as part of a celebration in Times Square. However, the real interest here is the bright light in the evening sky reported (and captured on video) by the news station.
Surely, if this was a simple balloon one would think it would not have blue flashing lights on it. And why would only one of 50 balloons remain visible for hours after all of the rest had blown away?
In my opinion this report is inconclusive. Something was indeed in the sky over Manhattan that evening. Was it a balloon or was it something else?
The second UFO sighting in New York occurred in Orchard Park (southeast of Buffalo) on the afternoon of November 11, 2010.
An eyewitness reported watching an object that appeared to alter its shape. The sighting lasted for six minutes. The eyewitness took five photographs of the object as it appeared to transform from a solid state to that of light or energy.
The incident was reported to the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) where it was logged in their database. You can confirm this sighting at their website.
At least two people witnessed the object firsthand according to the report. The witness stated that it was actually their boss who first noticed the object in the sky.
As of December 14, 2010 I have not been able to confirm the existence of the photographs being submitted to MUFON or published online. Eyewitness statements are definitely worth noting but I greatly prefer more tangible evidence in the form of video or photographs.
In 2010, New York had 21 UFO sighting reports in the month of October and 11 in November.

Summerville, SC region, USA - c.1990
It has been a VERY long time and I was quite young, so the exact date I'm not sure of. I WILL say that it was in the Spring (or Fall, as it was a moderately cool morning for the region) of 1990 or 1991.
Shape, Size, and Color of UFO? Silver Metallic Disk. Highly reflective with a dark underside.
Name of other Witnesses? I haven't got any names but there were well over 100+ witnesses. I would say, between school faculty and student body, closer to 200 - 300 witnesses altogether.
Did you see or hear any airplanes or helicopters? None. No noise coming from any aerial craft.
Weather conditions at time of sighting? Crystal Clear. No clouds. Slightly cool, but not uncomfortably so.
Were there any unusual smells associated with the sighting? No.
Were there any electromagnetic effects, like engine stalling, etc? Yes. The school's fire alarm was triggered, mysteriously, causing us all to go outside as if in a "fire drill" situation.
Did you experience any "missing time?" None that I can recall.
Were there any pictures or videos taken of the object/s? No.
This was well before the cell phone era. Please give all details of the sighting that you can recall.
Before I begin, I would like to thank the people of UFO Casebook.com for allowing me a place where I can FINALLY tell my story.
So far, I am the only one who has ever come forward with this story, and I have not found any record of this sighting, but I feel that in this day and age... and given certain current events involving certain information that NEEDS to come to light for the good of our civilization as a whole, this story needs to be told.
As a child, I moved around a lot in the Summerville / Goose Creek, South Carolina, area and was enrolled in many schools (hence the reason that I cannot remember the name of this particular elementary level school as there ARE 22 listed elementary schools in that particular city ALONE, and I had to have attended at least 7 of them within a 3 or 4 year period).
This PARTICULAR morning has stuck with me as vividly as the day it happened for nearly 10 years now, and sparked my interest into extraterrestrial life as a whole. It was about 9:30 AM on your average school day when, without warning, our fire alarm went off in the school.
I remember my teachers looking at one another with a look that denoted that this WASN'T a planned drill, but a potential emergency.
I remember all students went outside as normal procedure for a fire drill, and we were all standing around for several minutes, looking at the school to determine what was burning.
I remember my teacher talking with a nearby teacher from another class, trying to figure out what was going on when suddenly one of the other kids about 10 feet from me exclaimed "What's THAT?!" and was pointing up.
About, I would guess, 1000 feet or less above the school was a shiny, metallic disk that I would ESTIMATE in size to be around 30 - 50 feet across at its widest points just HOVERING over the school.
It didn't move.
It didn't make a sound.
It just sat there.
It was CLOSE enough in view that you could actually see it rotating in a clockwise direction. For the period of about 3-5 minutes EVERYONE in the school observed this disk floating above the school and then our teachers, VERY quickly, ushered us BACK inside the building and specifically told us NOT to talk about what we saw in the sky anymore.
Any further questions about it were either ignored or brushed off. In fact, when we were ushered hurriedly back inside the building the object was STILL hovering above the school.
I don't know why this has happened, but this was the first of several UFO encounters that I have, some as recently as four years ago in West Virginia (which I will report to you separately)... but this particular incident has, puzzled me, haunted me and fascinated me since I was a child.
WHY weren't we allowed to talk about it anymore? WHY did this thing trigger the fire alarm as if trying to lure us outside?
Clearly, this thing's occupants WANTED us to know it was there, or else it wouldn't have gotten our attentions in the first place.
As I stated before, I don't know why this happened to me or why no one ever came forward with this incident, but an object that is capable of manipulating systems on the ground warrants its story being told.
I will never forget that day for as long as I live and I hope that the pictures I've enclosed (made in Photoshop) help to depict this incident a little better than I've verbally described.

NASA - The possibility of the existence of extraterrestrial life has been recently reconfirmed by new discoveries in astronomy.
The director of the NASA Astrobiology Institute, Carl Picher, said that "evidence is increasingly strong."
According to him, "life must exist elsewhere."
Some examples that made the experts believe this include the upward revision in the number of stars and the discovery of bacteria that feed on arsenic, and a potentially habitable extra solar planet.
Thus, many scientists believe that the likelihood of extraterrestrial life exists is more important than ever.
Indeed, most research had focused on planets similar to ours, orbiting a sun. Red dwarfs, which represent 90% of stars in the universe, had been abandoned.
However, three years ago, experts from NASA have discovered that life could also be present on these stars.
However, there is still no evidence that another form of life exists beyond our planet.
For now, Mars appears to be a place where researchers have a better chance of finding other life forms, although they are also interested in Europe, a moon of Jupiter, and Enceladus and Titan, two satellites of Saturn.

By CINDY STAUFFER, Staff Writer, Lancaster New Era
UFO websites were buzzing this week with a report of two sightings of unusual objects over East Hempfield Township Monday.
A woman said she saw a Hershey Kiss-shaped object, accompanied by two Chinook military helicopters, around noon, and then another similar lighted object later that evening over Spring Valley Road. She reported the sightings to the Mutual UFO Network, or MUFON, which is based in Greeley, Colo.
It's likely no surprise to either scoffers or conspiracy theorists that neither Lancaster County emergency dispatchers nor air traffic controllers at the Lancaster Airport tower said they received any reports of helicopters or other unusual sightings Monday.
According to her report, the Lancaster woman said, after the second sighting, "I remember yelling, 'What the frig is that?' or a similar expletive and just being held in awe by the size and apparent low-flying flight path of the object."
Numerous web sites focusing on UFOs, extraterrestrials and unusual phenomena picked up the report of the sightings, including, the UFO Casebook, Lights in the Texas Sky, the Unexplainable, Whales in Space, UFO World News, and Area 51 Disclosure.
These sites are a door into an unusual universe populated by aliens, the Jersey Devil and Bigfoot, and buzzing with reports that entertainer Jackie Gleason claimed that President Nixon showed him alien bodies as well as lots and lots of conjecture on the military's involvement with and cover-up of UFOs.
Indeed, callers to MUFON's toll-free number are instructed: "To report a UFO sighting...please press 1. To report an abduction experience, please press 2."
Bill Weber, the MUFON investigator assigned to the case, said he knows that people mock the idea of UFOs. He also thinks they are scared by the prospect.
"The first reaction when somebody sees something is they're inquisitive, they're curious," he said, adding, "They're also afraid."
MUFON is not primed to see little green men behind every bush, said the 63-year-old Downingtown man, a sales manager for a computer-based test equipment company.
Many things that people think are UFOs actually turn out to be other things: meteors, regular aircraft, planets or easily explainable phenomenon, Weber said.
But there are other things, too, things that cannot be explained, he said.
"I think people should keep an open mind," he said. "When the evening sky is clear, and you see all those stars, our sun is one of them. How can you say this star, in the vastness of everything you're seeing, is the only star that has intelligent life circling around that? I can't do that."
Weber said he plans to contact the woman to interview her and her 13-year-daughter, who saw the first object over Spring Valley, a road that runs north of and parallel to Route 30 from Centerville Road to Rohrerstown Road.
He also may knock on the door of neighbors the woman said saw, and possibly videotaped, the first object.
Weber said he could end up asking federal authorities, via a Freedom of Information request, if they were tracking anything on radar in the area at that time.
John Moeller, air traffic manager for the Lancaster Airport, said it's not unusual to see military helicopters flying over Lancaster County. Some come from Ft. Indiantown Gap and others from a Maryland airport that has a military unit.
He and Rick Harrison, the county's emergency management operations manager, said they occasionally get calls about unusual things in the sky. Sometimes they are low-flying aircraft such as crop dusters or helicopters checking power lines.
Weber said MUFON gets about a dozen reports of UFOs or other phenomenon every month in Pennsylvania.
"I have to believe there's something out there," he said. "It just makes sense."

Wyoming - 12-11-10
I was driving back to Colorado from Idaho, got tired and decided to stop off at Little America.
I reclined in my seat for almost two hours, I couldn't sleep, so I decided to start driving.
I immediately noticed this star-like figure in the eastern sky. I've seen this same figure many years ago as a teenager in Idaho more than once.
I knew it wasn't a star because it was too close to the ground and way too bright.
I also noticed it moving when I would stop the car, it would go back and forth from one side of I-80 to the other. I tried to keep up with the other cars because I’ve never felt so terrified, I felt like it was there for me for some reason, only because this isn't the only time that I’ve seen it.
My brother and my grandmother have also seen this before. My heat was on inside my car, but all that I could feel was cold.
I was stopping at every exit because I couldn't stay awake, I would drink coffee and Red Bull, but could only continue to drive for only twenty minutes at a time.
Every time I would stop it would move closer, but when I would continue driving, it would go off into the distance.
I finally couldn't drive any longer so I pulled off at a truck stop at Rock Springs and once again reclined my seat to try to sleep.
I could see it moving south as I fell asleep, it was my last image of this star-like figure.
When I was sleeping, I was dreaming about it and a man that I have never seen before. In my dream, the man kept repeating that he was the reason that I could not bear children that they had other plans for me.
I remember trying to wake from this dream but could not, and once again have never been so terrified.
Also, when I was driving, a friend of mine was sending me text messages, but for some period I quit receiving these messages.
When they finally came through, I had three missed messages at different times, but I remember checking my phone frequently and never did lose service.
After sleeping for three hours I woke up to continue driving. Even though I could no longer see the object, I still could only drive about twenty to thirty minutes at a time, I was drained of energy.
I had to pull over and sleep for one or two hours every twenty to thirty minutes, a drive that would normally only take me less than five hours took me more than twelve hours because I just didn't have the energy to continue.
I’ve made this same drive several times and was sick with severe anemia from cancer before and still was never this tired. In fact it's still hours later and I don't feel like I have any energy just yet, but I did notice I have three blister like sores on my neck in the shape of a triangle, very painful.
I don't know if they have anything to do with my sighting or my fatigue, but don't want to dismiss it just yet.
Also, I tried to stop and take pictures of the object, but it seems like every time I would stop and get my phone ready to take pictures, the object would become very dim.
According to my call log, I called my husband at 5:24 AM to tell him about what I was seeing.

Santa Barbara Channel, 1953
Kelly Johnson was known as one of the world's leading aircraft designers. He was in charge of designing the U-2 spy plane for the CIA.
On December 16, 1953, a Lockhead WV2 aircraft was being flown by one of Johnson's test crews over Long Beach California, at the same time that Johnson and his wife were on the ground in Agoura, California.
Johnson, his wife, and the flight crew all spotted a UFO at almost the same time. Because the plane and Johnson's location were both known, the location of the unknown object could be triangulated exactly.
The object spotted by the observers was a 200 foot long, black craft, similar to the military's "Flying Wing." The UFO was seen for 6-7 minutes as it hovered over the Santa Barbara Channel.
The W-2B decided to get a closer look, and proceeded toward the UFO, which was about 15,000 feet altitude. All the while, Johnson was observing the UFO with his binoculars.
He, along with the crew in flight, saw the UFO take off at a great speed. It headed out over the Pacific. It reached 90 miles altitude as it disappeared from view.
Later, in Johnson's official report, he stated: "I am now more convinced than ever, that such devices exist, and I have some highly technical converts in this belief."
After looking over the case, the US Air Force concluded that Johnson, his wife, and the airplane crew had seen a lenticular cloud.
Although the government thought that Johnson could not tell the difference between a cloud and a structured, flying object, they continued to employ him for many years to come, designing some of the most secretive, cutting-edge planes of his era.
